Camps and Excursions
Camps and excursions support and enrich a range of curriculum areas and provide deep learning experiences to students in a variety of environments. Our students have the opportunity to experience a range of exciting excursions and incursions throughout the year that are directly relevant to the curriculum.
The overnight camping activities are an important part of the Heathfield Primary School curriculum. Whilst not an expectation, we endeavour to ensure each year level has a camping experience including the Year 6 students who participate in an Aquatics camp at Victor Harbor each year.
Whilst we all spent many years at school we have very few lasting memories however school camp is always one we recall. This wonderful learning experience provides outstanding opportunities for mentoring, leadership, personal growth and the development of independence, resilience and confidence.
Comments from parents have been extremely positive over previous feedback surveys:
‘It will make fantastic memories to look back on when they are older’.
‘Can’t rate it highly enough — what a fantastic experience for them’.
